accessPRO is an integration point for collection of data from measuring and controlling equipment. It provides supervisory/audit and control functions for any exisiting network of measurement and control, ties disparate systems together, and translates the information through to one location - to the client’s own accessPRO site and/or an existing database in any SCADA or telemetry system.
The accessPRO software, services and console effectively make a disparate collection of I/O controls and measurement devices talk to each other and be available on one view with graphs and menus. Even a vast ensemble of equipment and devices, in multiple locations, can be integrated and talk to each other as if they are in one place. All equipment networks may be controlled as if they were one network.
accessPRO scales up with the simple addition of more consoles.
The accessPRO software is in two parts. The second part is optional.
> Process control software in the console contains a very powerful computing device, with process control algorithms inbuilt and a programmable logic controller. Any number of accessPRO consoles talk to each other via the internet.
> I/O communications and supervisory control software in the ‘Cloud’. A remote terminal or telemetry unit (RTU) is a micro-computer-controlled electronic device that interfaces objects in the physical world to a distributed control system or SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system by transmitting telemetry data to a master system, and by using messages from the master supervisory system to control connected objects. The accessPRO console contains a communications and web Server. The Server provides common IP communications protocols; for example Modbus and it provides connectivity to any DNP3 compliant RTU, IED ( Intelligent Electronic Device), PLC, meter, transducer, relay, etc.
